Mijn baas is zo vriendelijk geweest om, ondanks dat hij daartoe niet verplicht is, mijn salaris gedurende mijn absentie door te betalen. Hetgeen ook weer wat stress weg nam. Zelfs van de werkgever van Jill werden bloemen bezorgd. Een en ander geeft je zomaar te denken over de hardheid in de Amerikaanse maatschappij. De warmte van collega's en het bedrijf is ook voor mij een verrassing gebleken; een aangename wel te verstaan.
Ik kom er wel weer bovenop.
